Scheduling is extremely important because many of our vendors will have other appointments or weddings to attend on the same day of your ceremony, and if our party is not on time, it may cause a vendor to have to leave before their services can be fully utilized.

Site Availability. Larger weddings take a bigger risk when they are held in public locations. Because all beaches are public, other weddings or other events may take the spot you desire to use for your wedding. With a public beach or public park site there is no guarantee that you will be able to use the location you desire, because we cannot reserve it. This means your entire wedding party may be forced to travel to another location. This can be extremely stressful, especially if sunset is approaching. This is why we recommend private sites for larger weddings, so that you can have a guaranteed location.

 

Weather Problems. If you are attempting to have a sunset wedding on a public beach and it rains (which it sometimes does here in paradise), we may be able to move to another beach location where it is not raining. But the larger the party, the more difficult relocating will become. Leading a procession of rental cars up the highway could take away valuable time from your sunset photographs.

 

Photography. Larger parties have more family and wedding party photographs to take. The larger the family, the more combinations there are to shoot. Because our smaller photo packages are designed for small wedding parties, a larger party will have less romantic shots available then a smaller party if they don't upgrade the size of their photography package. So I recommend that a couple should upgrade their photography to accommodate all the extra photos that will be needed for a larger wedding.

 

Formal Maui Weddings
 

Another factor that can add a considerable amount of time to your wedding is its level of its formalness. Here are some factors to consider:

 

The Secluded Bride. Many Maui brides desire to stay out of view of their fiancé until the moment of their entry at the wedding site. While this is easy and normal at a mainland wedding, you'll find this is a little more difficult on the beach and it will likely add extra time to your wedding.

 

If you are coming in separate cars, we will need to coordinate between the two of you. This often necessitates the need for us to travel back and forth between the bride and the groom to find out what is desired, then communicate that to rest of the party. All of this takes time.

 

Maui Wedding Rehearsals. Very few weddings are big enough to require a rehearsal. We will often just sketch out a plan for the wedding party, showing where the musicians, videographer, father of the bride and the minister will all be standing and how they will enter. Again, the time necessary for this can take time away from your sunset photography and videography.

 

In the event your wedding is large enough to warrant the extra time and expense of having a rehearsal, our services can be booked for an extra night (or earlier in the day). But keep several things in mind:

 

1) There is a rehearsal fee.

 

2) Be sure to book the rehearsal on our calendar.

 

3) Be sure the majority of your wedding party, (especially those who are standing up at the wedding) will be able to attend the rehearsal. (This is difficult because people may be flying in from the mainland on different flights with different schedules.)

 

4) If you have a private site, you may need to book the site for your rehearsal and there will likely be a separate fee for this use.

 

Maui Wedding Videography. If you are having a video taken of your more formal wedding, it will inevitably need to be longer than most of our videos for smaller weddings. Please talk to me about this when your order your video package.

Larger Maui Wedding Fees
 

Because I have found that all of the above factors will influence the amount of time and attention I need to spend to give you the wedding of your dreams, we consider each larger wedding on a custom basis. Because every larger wedding is unique, you will want to contact me early so that I can give you a bid for your wedding based upon what your particular needs are. This custom wedding fee is added on to the actual cost of the services you order. 

 

Because of the extra work they take, larger weddings are not eligible for our discount wedding package prices. You must use our ala carte pricing. We will provide you with a full list of prices for those services. Even with these small fees, our larger wedding services are much less expensive than the wedding packages offered by the resorts and our competitors.

 

Because there is much more work involved to coordinate larger weddings, we ask for a larger non-refundable wedding deposit. Your wedding is NOT booked and my be pre-empted by another party unless you have given us your deposit. This deposit allows us to put in the kind of time necessary to work out all of the many details of your wedding knowing that you have committed yourself to our company.
